Celebrate the story of Jesus’ birth in scripture and song in this 2020 version of Lessons & Carols. The youth and children of our congregation tell us about the angels and star while the musical ensembles add their voices to the joyful occasion. This a service the whole family will enjoy. Flat Rock Christmas Giving Tree
While the times have brought so much change to our world, we hold on to the traditions that have become important to us and bring joy to others! The Flat Rock community is once again asking us for gifts, or monetary donations, so the individuals cared for at the Flat Rock can celebrate Christmas. A signup sheet with instructions will be available to be viewed on the weekly tidings and connecting moments. You can go to the following link for more information on the giving tree for the residents. Thank you and many blessings and thanks to all who will be donating. Donation link.
Save your Milk Jugs. The church is collecting milk jugs for our Christmas Luminaries. With so many things uncertain this year we want to make sure all of those around our church see the LIGHT Of CHRIST this Christmas. (We are really hoping to cover all of our sidewalks). Please bring your Milk jugs to the church. We will be collecting them in the garage and are looking for volunteers to help assemble and place them out on Christmas Eve around 2pm. If you are interested in helping with this project contact Pastor Laura email@example.com
Alternative Christmas Giving
Do you have a friend, family member or someone you would like to honor with a special gift this Christmas? This year at Lakewood United Methodist Church you have 3 options for alternative Christmas Giving. Please consider a donation to:
1. Trials for Hope: To deliver dignity and hope to those who fall between the cracks by bringing wholesome food, personal care products and warmth to the greater Cleveland area.
2. Africa University Women’s Dormitory Campaign: To build on campus a dorm that will provide a safe and secure environment.
3. Zoe Empowers: To help orphaned and vulnerable children living in extreme poverty in Africa, India and Tanzania. To express your love to those whom a plateful of cookies doesn’t seem enough. Even a small donation helps provide food, clothing, schooling and safe living quarters. Hopefully this donation and prayer will fulfill a need to share a meaningful gift to someone special in your life.
Please mail or bring your donation to Lakewood United Methodist Church, 15700 Detroit Ave., Lakewood, OH 44107. Cards will be mailed to the recipient or you may pick up and mail a card yourself. Contact MaryAnn Ratica at firstname.lastname@example.org or 440.799.4313 for further information.
