Music Ministries

The music ministry at Lakewood United Methodist Church plays an indispensable role in helping others experience the love and grace of God. All our ensembles are committed to working with the pastoral staff in choosing and presenting musical selections each week that enhance the overall message. Most ensembles are composed entirely of volunteers. New members are always welcome.

Adult Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir is the primary ensemble responsible for leading Sunday worship at the Traditional service. The Chancel Choir rehearses from 7:45 - 9:00 p.m. on Thursday evenings from September to May in the choir room. The ensemble is composed entirely of volunteers. New members are always welcome to this ensemble throughout the year and there is no long-term commitment. There are no auditions. Singers must be at least 16 years old. Experience is welcome but not required, and participants do not need to be able to read music. For more information, contact Gene Willet through the church office at 216.226.8644.

Handbell Choir

The Handbell Choir rehearses from 6:45 - 7:30 p.m. most Thursday evenings from September to May in the handbell room. The Handbell Choir plays about once a month for the Traditional service. Prior ringing experience is not required though a basic ability to read music is strongly recommended. New ringers are welcome, and training can be provided for beginners. For more information contact Gene Willet through the church office at 216.226.8644.

Impact Band

The Impact Band is a group of singers and instrumentalists who provide musical leadership for our Impact contemporary worship service each Sunday. We rehearse most Saturday mornings in the church sanctuary. New vocalists and instrumentalists are invited to inquire about openings throughout the year. For more information contact Martin "Sonny" Neal through the church office at 216.226.8644.
