Lakewood United Methodist Church (LUMC) has an active congregation that is involved in reaching out to meet the needs of the local, regional, and global community. See the News section on our Home page or call the church office, 216-226-8644, for details on upcoming opportunities to get involved in mission.

Members and friends can be involved in Change the World Sunday in May, take part in a Summer Work Mission serving a community within a day's drive, or join an annual spring Work Mission trip to Guatemala. There are also a variety of one-day projects that the congregation participates in with organizations like Habitat for Humanity and LakewoodAlive

On the fourth Tuesday of each month, LUMC hosts a Community Meal in Daniels Hall at 6 p.m. We serve about 120 meals. Volunteers are always welcome to help with cooking, serving and cleanup. This is an excellent opportunity to serve the community as well as enjoy fellowship with others.

The Shawl Ministry offers those who knit or crochet an opportunity to gather in fellowship and service on the second Saturday of each month.

Home cooks prepare Tender Loving Casseroles (TLC) to be shared with members in need of a meal during difficult times.

LUMC volunteers schedule events to raise money to fund LUMC's scholarship at Africa University in Zimbabwe. Your participation in events and direct contributions to the scholarship fund are appreciated. LUMC also contributes financially to a number of other UMC related mission projects.

If you have a passion for a mission opportunity which is not listed, contact the church office at office@lkwdumc.org or 216-226-8644.
