Worship at LUMC
Worship may very well be the most important activities the church is about. Worship is a time to welcome God and to celebrate God's redemptive presence in our lives. Though worship is central to the Christian faith, we realize not everyone senses the presence of God in the same manner- music style, order of worship, or setting. LUMC strives to offer relevant worship experiences for an ever-changing population. Read on and see if one of our three distinctively different worship gatherings in one that might help you celebrate God’s presence and grow closer to the God who calls you by name.
Awakening - is a contemplative worship experience held each Sunday in Yoder Chapel at 8:30 a.m.
This service offers Communion each week, and will be a time for reflection on scripture and spiritual renewal, a chance to slow down and focus on Christ, allowing God to speak to us in a time of quiet and contemplation. Join us. Leave the stresses of your week at the foot of the cross and go forth with thanksgiving for God’s grace in your life. No child or nursery care is available at this service time.
Traditional/Classical worship service at 10:00 am.
Some followers of Christ renew their spiritual life through the familiarity of tradition: liturgy, classical organ, hymns, anthems, prayer, scripture and the morning message are all included in this service. In addition, the children are gathered for a age-appropriate message before leaving the sanctuary for a Christian Education experience (Sunday School).
Nursery and toddler care are provided during this service through noon. Pagers are available for parents who leave their children in the nursery during worship and classes that follow.
Impact - a come as you alternative worship experience at 11:15 Sunday morning.
As Christians we are called to go and make disciples of ALL people (Mt. 28: 19). There are many people in our community who are seeking a new way to worship God. Some may not yet know about Jesus and the Good News. Some may have wandered away from the church or become bored with traditional worship. Learn more...
